Empathy
Being more empathetic is a skill you can develop by acknowledging your biases, having frank sometimes difficult conversations, and acting with compassion toward others; and widespread research has shown that empathy makes people better managers and employees, better family members and friends.
So why the gap? Why, even in a time of massive change and uncertainty, are some individuals still struggling to understand and support one another? If connection and compassion are critical to rebuilding society in a post-COVID, post-racial world then how can we inspire a tidal wave of empathy to drive more change in our companies and our lives?
THE FIRST QUESTION
How do you relate to the experiences of others who lead different lives from your own?
“I think we all have empathy. We may not have enough courage to display it.”
